The agaves on the peninsula sometimes give flowers on a single tall stem. At term, the branches of the flowers become hard as wood.

This piece, composed of dried agave branches, is completed on its base by a small soldier from space forgotten on the sand. Wearing a freshly-chrome combination, it gives the object its measure and leaves the viewer suspended.
